LAILA COLLINS

I design homes that feel luxurious when they’re perfectly put together and when they’re lived in and loved.

As a mom of 3, I know that sometimes the most elevated homes are the ones that let you breathe.

Because most days, you’re not going to be sitting back and admiring your home from a distance. You’re going to be filling it with life, day in and day out.

Your space will be the background to all of the beautiful moments of your family’s life—and the messy ones, too! So while we’ll be creating livable luxury, we’ll also be designing a sensible home that uplifts and enhances the life you already love.

AT MANDERLEY WE BELIEVE

Every room deserves a punch of delight.

The best design happens when you’re a little scared to say yes! I’ll be there to hold your hand through every creative risk — and celebrate when you say “It’s my favorite part!”

A little contrast keeps things interesting.

For every touch of modern metal, we’ll add soft, organic lines. For every dark and moody alcove, we’ll choose decor that feels light. Finding the perfect balance is what I do best!

The best-laid plans look like longevity.

Classic architectural principles live at the heart of my designs. Symmetry, precision, and historic elements make for a home you’ll love today and 30 years down the line.

OUR STORY

Before my formal design education, I had my feet firmly planted in the business world.

But all of that changed when I had my three babies, and stayed home to raise them for 10 years.

It was everything you’re thinking: wonderful, exhausting, rewarding, entertaining, and passing in the blink of an eye! As my kids got older, I knew there would be a time when I could spend more time pursuing my passions. So when my husband and I decided to remodel our home, I said “Why don’t I do it myself?”

No sweat, right? Wrong. Lots of sweat. Sometimes even in heels. But in the process of reimagining the backdrop of my family’s life, I fell completely in love with interior design.

I’m the kind of person who believes in solid foundations. Before opening my own firm, I wanted the technical expertise to bring big ideas to life. So I went back to school, learned CAD, studied construction processes, attended tradeshows, worked alongside another designer, and developed my signature style.

And after all that time as a stay-at-home mom, I had my surprise fourth baby: Manderley Home.

Every Manderley Home gives back.

When I opened Manderley Home, I knew I wanted to approach interior design as more than an artistic outlet. To me, design is a way to serve others and show my kids how to live a life of purpose, meaning, and faith. The following are organizations we have supported or partnered with in the past.
